There are many stories in the world of Teyvat, the setting of Genshin Impact. This time, we will discuss the story of Childish Jiang, which I find quite sad and tragic.

Jiang is the child of Shaoyuan and Duan’ya. He has a mental illness that causes him to think and behave like a young child, which is why he is called Childish Jiang. But most importantly, Jiang is deeply loved by both of his parents.
They often play hide-and-seek around the house, and Jiang loves hide-and-seek dearly as he considers himself a great player. However, despite his skills, he often gives hints about his hiding spots.
Due to his mental illness, Jiang struggles to comprehend complex issues. His father frequently visits Bubu Pharmacy in search of medication for Jiang’s mental condition. Jiang’s father hopes that in the coming days, they will see some results.
Jiang’s father works as a Millelith, a military soldier stationed around Liyue. He has devoted his entire life to the Millelith, but now he hopes that his upcoming mission will be his last. He dreams of retiring and enjoying life with his wife and child.

It is unfortunate that Jiang’s father passed away during his final mission. Jiang’s mother kept his father’s death a secret and told him that his father was playing hide-and-seek. Sadly, Jiang is unaware of this and feels proud to have a father who is excellent at hiding. He happily shares the hiding spots they used together and reminisces about them.
Jiang’s father had a secret hiding place where he kept food, wine, and some mora. One day, Jiang’s mother invited him to play hide-and-seek. Jiang hid while his mother searched for him, but as he hid, he heard many footsteps approaching the mountain. Jiang assumed that his mother’s friends had come to help find him, which made him hide even deeper.
After several days, Jiang’s mother still hadn’t found him. He began to think that his mother was worried, and he also felt hungry. He decided to come out of his hiding spot, but he couldn’t find his mother. Jiang thought that his mother was angry because he was so good at hiding and couldn’t be found.
After a long time, Jiang still believed that his family was playing hide-and-seek and that he would be found by his father and mother. Unbeknownst to him, his mother had actually passed away, possibly due to illness. Jiang remained unaware of this fact, and he managed to survive until now because Uncle Tian and his father’s friends from the Millelith always brought him food. Jiang would often ask where his father and mother had gone, but they had no answers for him.

One day, the Millelith soldiers arrived with two tombstones, saying that it was Jiang’s father and mother who had instructed them to place them there. Unfortunately, Jiang couldn’t read, so he couldn’t understand the inscriptions on the tombstones.
Until now, Jiang continues to hope and wait for the arrival of his father and mother. His father’s friends are very kind; they always come and bring food for Jiang.
How heartbreaking this story is, a child with a mental illness living alone, both of his parents passed away, and he is unaware of it, yet he remains faithfully waiting for their return.
Jiang is raised with good manners and full of love. He always remembers and follows the teachings of his parents diligently.
Jiang always waits for the arrival of his parents, patiently waiting and playing hide-and-seek.
Yes, that was the story of Childish Jiang who always waits. In my opinion, the story is indeed very sad. Jiang is truly pitiable.
