Is Katherine a human or a robot ?
Katheryne is a receptionist at the Adventurers’ Guild. She can be found at the guild headquarters located in each of the seven nations of Teyvat. Katheryne provides quests for guild members, including the Traveler, and shares information about incidents occurring in the respective areas.

There are many Katheryne NPCs in the nation of Teyvat, and they have the same uniform, clothing color, and appearance. Initially, I thought, are they like Nurse Joy (in the Pokémon series) who has identical twin sisters? But it turns out they are not. I stood near an NPC Katheryne for a while, and she uttered the words “ERROR” and “REBOOTING.”
The words “error” and “rebooting” are often associated with computers or seen in movies. If you look closely, there is a keyhole-like opening just behind Katheryne’s collar. So, who is Katheryne? Is she a human, an android, or an alien who came to the nation of Teyvat?
First, let’s find out about the Adventurers’ Guild where Katheryne works. The Adventurers’ Guild is a platform that provides newcomers with the means to adapt to the adventurer lifestyle and assists veterans in pursuing their adventures more freely. There is little information available about the origin of the Adventurers’ Guild, but there is one dialogue that confirms its origin. In a conversation with Lan, the branch head of the Adventurers’ Guild, he says, “Suddenly I heard news from the HQ in Snezhnaya that I had actually completed two Rank S missions.”
This dialogue explains that the headquarters of the Adventurers’ Guild is located in Snezhnaya. Snezhnaya is said to have more advanced technology compared to other cities in Teyvat. Based on this, we can formulate the following theory: the Adventurers’ Guild has numerous branches throughout Teyvat. To facilitate adventurers in their journeys, the Guild created robots with artificial intelligence and established a central server to store all the acquired information.
Robots are produced in large quantities and deployed to all branches of the Adventurers’ Guild. These robots are named Katheryne and they work as receptionists in all the Adventurers’ Guild branches. That’s the theory we can adopt. Hopefully, once Snezhnaya becomes accessible, we will learn more about the origins of Katheryne, the receptionist of the Adventurers’ Guild.
